Dr. Reiter entered the veterinary field at the age of fifteen, paying her way through school by serving as a kennel assistant, receptionist, and veterinary assistant at several small and large animal hospitals.  In 1992 she graduated from Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI with a BA in Biology and a double minor in Chemistry and English.  She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, earning her Doctorate in 1996.

Upon graduation, Dr. Reiter relocated to Whidbey Island.  She has served the needs of small animal patients in Island, Whatcom, Skagit, and Snohomish counties for over 25 years.

Dr. Reiter shares her life with her farm full of furry "children".  She shows her Labrador Retrievers in a plethora of performance and conformation events and decompresses out on the trails riding her Appaloosa horses.

Dr. Bishop is an island native, born in Coupeville.  He is a third generation Cougar, receiving both his Bachelor's Degree (1982) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (1986) from Washington State University.

Dr. Bishop has served on both the Executive Board and as President of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association.  After having his own practice in Oak Harbor for years he began working on a limited basis at the Useless Bay Animal Clinic around 2005.

David Parent DVM has practiced on South Whidbey since 1990. He has always been interested in all kinds of animals, from birds and mammals to insects, reptiles, amphibians and tidepool critters. During his childhood, his long-suffering mother allowed him to keep a menagerie of wild and domestic pets.

He graduated with a B.S. in Wildlife Science from the University of Washington and received his veterinary degree from Washington State University in 1987. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but especially knee surgery and endoscopy. He appreciates his connections with the animals and people he meets every day. He feels very fortunate to work with all his extremely competent and personable co-workers.

He is licensed by the Washington Department of Fish and Game to treat wildlife. He has participated in many wildlife research projects including Rocky Mountain Goats in Olympic National Park, Murrelets in Glacier Bay National Park and Fat-tailed Dwarf Lemurs, Mouse Lemurs and Diademed Sifakas in Madagascar.

In his spare time he enjoys landscaping, reading, mountaineering, off-trail travel, telemark skiing, canoeing, paddleboarding, birding, and hanging out with his sweetheart, four children and nine grandchildren. 

Dr. Parent retired August 2021 but he still visits to care for wildlife and fills in occasionally.

Malina started at UBAC through an internship while in high school.  She worked here several years part time and has been here full time since 2005.  She enjoys working up front at reception as well as in the back as a technician.  She grew up on a farm in Oak Harbor where she discovered her passion for animals .  

Lisa began her veterinary career in 1999 as a receptionist at a four doctor mixed animal practice in Southern Oregon. It was there Lisa was able to realize the extremely challenging but gratifying potential of working on a daily basis with extraordinary pets and their passionate owners.  Lisa has since held a variety of roles and positions in the clinic setting which led to her true calling of patient care.  After the birth of their daughter, Lisa and her husband moved to Whidbey Island to be closer to family.  Lisa was thrilled to join the phenomenal team at UBAC in 2015 and strives to provide exceptional care to patients and educational opportunities for pet owners. Lisa lives with her husband, daughter, three horses, two dogs, three cats, and several chickens on their small farm.  When Lisa is not busy caring for her own pets and farm she enjoys spending time riding the trails with her husband, training her gelding in dressage and jumping, and camping with her family.

Aleesia was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and ventured out to the wonderful Whidbey Island in 2018. Her love for animals started the day she was born and she hasn't looked back since! On her free time she likes to go on adventures to new places, play board games, hang out with family and friends, and sitting on the beach listening to the water! She plans on continuing her love for animals by going to school to get her vet tech license and move on up in the veterinarian field. Her two dogs Bella Rose and Otis Kai definitely keep her on her toes but they are so worth it.

Kylie is from Wisconsin and earned her BS and MS degrees in Animal Science at UW-Madison. She is currently studying Veterinary Nursing with Purdue University's online program. Her life's passion is to learn about and take care of animals of all sizes. She has worked with dairy cows, swine, dogs, cats and lab rats and mice, for many years. Now she is a proud member of UBAC's team on Whidbey Island. Her hobbies include walking her dog Toki, reading books, drawing, and painting.
