Our veterinarians, technicians, receptionists, and assistants are all people with a great love of animals. Together, we work as a team to provide the best care possible for your pet. We conduct daily staff meetings and routinely discuss our hospitalized cases to ensure continuity of care for our patients. We are proud to be an AAHA accredited facility!

Dr. Chris Buckner earned his Bachelor of Biological Sciences from Vanderbilt University in 2005. He then went on and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee in 2009. In May of 2009 he joined the staff at Mountain Home Veterinary Hospital. In his free time, Dr. Buckner enjoys time spent with his wife and daughter, as well as backpacking and SCUBA at the aquarium. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Gatlinburg, a Scoutmaster/ Crew leader for Troop III, and is Youth Ministry Leader & Drama Director at Richardson's Cove Baptist Church.

Dr. Amy Thomason joined the staff of Mountain Home Veterinary Hospital in May of 2002. Dr. Thomason received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Maryville College. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee in 2002. In her free time, Dr. Thomason enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter.

Paula joined the staff of Mountain Home Veterinary Hospital in 1999, bringing with her 19 years of veterinary hospital experience as well as business management experience. As a long term employee, Paula has seen the hospital grow, and enjoys the wonderful patients & their owners that she has met over the years. In her free time, Paula enjoys spending time with her husband Tom as well as her children & grandchildren in KY, spoiling her 4 lb maltipoo "Gypsy Rose", as well as riding motorcycles in our beautiful Smoky Mountains.

Ariel joined our team at Mountain Home Veterinary in November of 2015, bringing with her a great respect and unconditional love for animals. In addition to keeping our boarding area well maintained & patients spoiled, her enthusiasm & warm heart has became a wonderful attribute to not only our kennel staff, but also when helping clients at our reception desk. Ariel's free time consists of spending time with her fiance' and spoiling her 4 dogs.
